zeze Milk Carton Cardboard Cat House — Striped Scratcher & Hideaway

Milk Carton Silhouette · Two Round Doorways · Corrugated Cardboard

It is a milk carton, scaled up to 55.5 cm and given a cat-sized front door. The body is printed in vertical chocolate brown and sky blue stripes separated by fine cream pinstripes, and the top folds into a proper gabled roof ridge in solid brown, fastened with two round studs. A small red circular tag hangs from the ridge on a tab, printed with the line "Only the best for your loving pet." The zeze wordmark sits in white low on the front panel.

There are two round doorways, each finished with a cream rim: a large opening on the front for coming and going, and a smaller porthole on the adjacent side. Between them the cat gets a lookout as well as an entrance, which tends to matter more than the size of the house. A hiding place with only one exit is a trap; a hiding place with two openings is a den.

The whole structure is corrugated cardboard, so the walls double as a scratching surface. zeze describe the corrugated body as giving just the right amount of resistance, keeping claws worn down through ordinary use rather than through a separate session at a post.

The footprint is only 33.5 × 30.5 cm, so it takes up about as much floor as a small side table while standing tall enough to read as a piece of the room. It suits a corner of a sitting room, a hallway, or a spot beside a window where a cat can watch the street through the porthole.

Key Features

  • Milk carton silhouette: A folded gabled roof ridge with stud fastenings and a small red hanging tag, printed in brown and sky-blue stripes.
  • Two round doorways: A large front entrance and a smaller side porthole, both cream-rimmed, giving a way in and a way to look out.
  • Corrugated cardboard body: The walls are the scratching surface, so hiding and claw care happen in the same object.
  • Tall but compact: 55.5 cm high on a 33.5 × 30.5 cm footprint, so it makes a statement without eating the floor.
  • Enclosed and dark inside: A proper retreat for a cat who wants to be out of the way but still in the room.
  • Light to move: Under a kilo, so it can follow the sun around the flat.
  • Designed to be used up: Cardboard is a consumable, meant to be scratched through and replaced.

Adam ★★★★★

My two cats immediately claimed the two round doorways as their own, and I caught one napping inside within an hour of assembly. The corrugated cardboard has held up well to their scratching, though it's a bit smaller than I expected for the price.

Madison ★★★★★

The corrugated cardboard is surprisingly sturdy, my kitten loves batting at the edges through the round doorways. It’s tall enough for her to hide inside comfortably, which she does for hours. A perfect little scratcher and hideaway in one.

Chloe M. ★★★★★

Took my cat about an hour to figure out the two round doorways, and now she won't come out. The corrugated cardboard holds up way better than the flat scratcher she destroyed last month.
